Went for an anime event just now and i think it was awesome! haha... saw the ad in the city that there will be an anime convention in sydney and it was such a delightful shock when i saw that the venue would be at UNSW roundhouse. hahaha... how can i resist such event which is right at my doorstep.
mmm at first i was planning to spend like 2 hours there looking around for art works, doujinshi and cosplays... but ended up spending about 8 hours there cuz there is SO MANY events going on.
lots of figurines booth, which is the first thing i went to look at
manga drawing competition. the third contestant cosplays as haruhi haha...
some of their awesome drawings which were all done within the 30 mins time limit
and this is the winner. they say its supposed to be coloured but cant be seen with the projector
went to look around at the cosplays. quite impressed with some of them

the best cosplayers i have seen so far... i can only recognise the one on the left though, from FullMetal Alchemist
zack from FF7 and Tidus from FF10
yuuki from Suzumiya Haruhi reading a book (as usual) 
and a maid with bazooka (dunno from which anime)
and the doujinshi...
this booth has one of the best artworks. too bad its kinda expensive, if not i would have bought some ($10 for a A3 size piece)

japanese dollfies. First time i have seen them so close up. Doesnt have much interest for them, but after looking at it again... they are sooo preeetyy
then went to the maid cafe. Saw such events only in youtube and animes, but this is the first time i am actually going inside one. le exciting! the waitresses there are dressed up in a maid costume =D

then comes the main event... the cosplaying acts:
first up was 5 nekomimis performing a nekodance haha... very cute!
they also had an auction for a travelling artbook, which has travelled around the world and gone to the hands of many international anime artists who drew on it. Starting price was $15 and it went up to $205!!!!

yup spent the entire day there. totally made the most out of the $15 entrace fee, for my first experience to this kind of large scale anime event hahaha...
