Alot things to blog about but haha... gonna squeeze them all into one entry. Anyway most parts of this entry shall be about about how singaporean we can get.
First up will be pics of penny's bday which is last thursday. This is the first birthday that we managed to successfully pull out a large suprise for her that she was dumbfounded throughout the whole celebration.
All of us at the pavillion...
Award Presentation Ceremony =D

Anyway I havent been feeling well for the past week... been down with a sore throat and till now is still waiting for a full recovery. Maybe i overexerted myself over the past weekend haha... Lots of activities going on, while I have to keep to my schedule on my studies and tat forever annoying assignment.
On saturday, we had national day celebration with the same med peeps. Held a picnic and everyone contributed to the food. And after that, we played a game of frisbee, where i had my first muscle cramp/sprain in my life. Haha... Drew's First Sports Injury mmm... remarkable moment of my life =D
Then after that helped yvonne move house from belmore street to mulwaree. really LOTS of things, including a CRO TV which is super heavy. Me, mingfei and jordan almost died carrying it up the stairs to the 3rd floor, while reciting the national pledge in chinese haha... ("GONG TONG NU LI!!!")
When the night fall, we were quite excited about attending the national day parade which will be broadcasted at the Roundhouse. But who knows once we arrived there, there were already many other singaporeans being turned down because there is too many people already. Apparently the guards are being super niao about everything. Talk about too many people la, the building not very strong la, the floor might collapse la. haiz... in the end we have to split up and some of us ended up gg to owen's hse to watch the NDP with his HDTV.

watching the NDP is really heartwarming mmm... reminds me of when i was in sec 1 when Cat high was chosen to perform in one of the mass display section. Every wednesday and saturday we have to go for rehearsals in the field under the hot sun. But it was fun. And during the NDP itself the experience was really awesome! During the performance itself, but especially before the performance, at the backstage when everyone wished each other good luck; the cheerleaders cheering for us; and all the cat high boys shouting school cheers and warcry in unison just before the major performance started... hmmm reminsicing haha...
Anyway, back to reality, I went home feeling reaaaly satisfied, but utterly sick because i totally overworked myself upside down for the day.
Then on Sunday, another national day celebration with my church around noon. Went to centennial park at first, but after it started pouring we moved over to AGSM, which David kindly offered us the place. Coincidentally it happened to be kahmun's birthday also that day, so we celebrated it and the event kinda felt like "Kahmun's Birthday Party" instead of "National Day Celebration"
Gave her an artist pallete for present and drew on it...
final product after everyone wrote on it... tadaahh...
Still, we had lots of homely food like xiaolongbao, tauhuay and kaya toasts; as well as games like taboo and charades which mingfei organised. After that we resume our usual church service and dinner together around Anzac.
mmm... the whole point is NDP is still such a big event among us singaporeans. We stood up for national anthem instinctively, and recited the pledges with so much enthusiasm. In fact, I belive we even felt a greater sense of belonging when we are far away from home. Ironic indeed haha...
Talk about missing home, i really miss home now haha...
One (1) people + one (1) nation + one (S)ingapore = $$
