I will be still

i just went for this AMAZING course on habitutes of becoming a Christian Leader on yesterday!! The worship is just so awesome haha... so i will juz briefly share about what i learnt so far.
In general. habitudes are images that form leadership habits and attitudes. They are a FUN way to learn leadership principles that will help you influence others, and change your culture in a positve way.

I myself am lacking in leadership qualities, but even the most introverted and shy person would have influenced at least 10,000 others around him, yeah!
So basically there are 4 concepts, analogies, that are introduced in this session:

1. The iceberg
The iceberg represents your leadership.
The 10% above the water is your skill. The 90% below the water is your character.
Its what below the surface that sinks the ship yet supports the tip

2. The starving baker
This is a common hazard for leaders.
Its the baker who spends so much time baking bread for others.
He forgets to eat and starves himself.
Leaders must feed themselves for personal growth

3. Thermostat Vs Thermometer
People are either thermometers or thermostats.
They will merely reflect the climate around them, or they will set it.
Leaders develop values and principles to live by and set the tone for others.

4. Opportunity Statue
Leaders manage opportunities.
Everyone has 86,400 seconds each day to use or abuse.
Opprtunity is a statue with hair in front, but bald in the back
You cant grab it once it is gone.

The most successful and influential leaders are those that are constantly growing spiritually everyday.
A person can have high status or positions but if the part inside of him felt empty, it means that he lacks emotional security.
Thus, we need God to fill up that empty void that is within us and He has promised us that hope and joy he will bring for us.

There is a story of 2 lumberjacks. They decided to compete who can cut down more trees in 6 hours.
During the first hour, the first lumberjack was cutting down trees with all his might, and he managed to cut down 3 trees. Then he looked over to the other lumberjack.
He had not cut down any tree. Instead, he was sitting on a rock, sharpening his axe.
After a few hours, the first lumberjack gets tired easily. His axe ot duller and duller.
On the other hand, the second lumberjack cut down the trees without much effort, because his axe was sharp.

If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge,
Then he must use more strength.
But wisdom brings success.
~ Ecclesiastes 10:10 ~

This is an AMAZING example. It shows us, in order to fight for our daily lives, we need to be spiritually ready so that we can overcome difficulties that lie ahead of us.

One of the guest speakers was Daphne Khoo, the SG idol runner up. She was sharing about how she struggled with her daily life and competitions.
Because of her hectic schedules during idols, she compromised her time with God.

There were moments when we were just too busy with our daily works. It seems easy to get carried away and neglect our personal relationship with God.
But God has promised to us that He will take us through the our darkest moments, through the valley of death.
He will always make a way, when there seems to be no way.
And He always work in ways we cannot see, but we will just have to put our trust in Him that he will see us through it all.

Every single person has a specific unique personal plan by God. Each one of us are all part of God's plan, a piece of a big puzzle.

All in all, the session was long, from 9 to 5, but it was definitely meaningful. It had made me realise my mistakes and how much i have immersed myself in worldly desires instead of focusing on my spiritual side.

fellow brothers and sisters in Christ

After that it is an AWESOME time together with 14o5 haha! went for a steamboat dinner. Then an overnight PARTY stayover at my hse haha... watched lots of movies and played games. It was TOTALLY UNFORGETTABLE!
Enjoy the time together guys haha... You guys rock!
N thnx to xtine XD for calling all the way frm US to grace our moments together haha...
12 ppl turned up and it was great! considering many are working, serving the nation and some overseas.

We didnt sleep at all XD haha... and i have to rush for church the next morning. So i was kinda =.= but thanks to God for giving me the energy for worship, yeah...

yeah my life in singapore is coming to an end haha... in a way. Not allowed to stay anymore, but i can still come back once in a while.
Very sad that i will be leaving my closest friends.
But at the same time, i am extremely excited at what is coming ahead haha XD
what plan has God kept in store for me and what path lies ahead, i do not know. But i place my trust in Him and that is what kept me going.

Left his memories on 10:41 AM|
~ It's just a goodnight and not goodbye ~

Song

New Song in My Heart
Emu Music

1. Put a new song in my heart
Let me hear the praises start
Dispell the night
And give me light again

2. Put a new thought in my mind
Help me leave the past behind
And break these chains
That I might live again

Lift my fallen face
and help me to stand
Flood me with the grace
That comes from your hand
Cleanse me from my sin
Lord, forgive me again
That I might be yours alone

3. Put a new fire in my soul
Make this wounded spirit whole
And help me see
That I am free again

Let these broken bones
Rise up and rejoice
Bring this captive home
And lift up my voice
Help my spirit sing
Now to Jesus my king
For he has forgiven me

Lift my fallen face
And help me to stand
Flood me with the grace
That comes from your hand
Cleanse me from my sin
Lord, forgive me again
That I might be yours alone
