back in indo again. was quite frustrated with the internet connection here. fReAkInG sLoW!!!
if anyone wanna contact me, juz email k? haha...
Anyway, i'm here for an internship, so will be back quite soon probly. It was quite a shock on the first day, given how bl00d totally fReAkS mE OUT!!!
yeah, so on the first day i was gonna meet a doctor so i juz conveniently walked into the operation room and...
me: *hops in* morning doc!!! :D
blood: *all over the place*
intestines: *lying ominously open on the bed*
me: (omg!!!) *turns around, crawls out*
doc: !?
yeah its kinda SH0CKing to see that on the first day. but oh well, nice intro and all...
so on the first day it was cimino surgery, which is joining an artery to a vein on the hand. first they gotta anaesthesize the patient...
Doc: *pokes w scalpel*
patient: ouch
Doc: *pokes again*
patient: eow
Doc: *pokes yet again*
patient: ...
Doc: :D yay
Doc: *start slashing* lalala
Doc: Ey drew, cum'ere
Doc: see this artery?
artery: *beats*
Me: (oh fuck no!) uh humm
Doc: impressive huh
Me: yes
Me: *smiles* :)
second day i witnessed the glory of all mums: giving birth. hahah... but its not natural birth. First thing first, we have to realise that all things come in different sizes and since she is compromised, she is not that lucky after all. So... here comes the surgery XDXD its called sectio caesarean where they have to slit open the womb to extract the baby.
My initial impression of 'labour' is tense atmosphere, serious docs getting things done, and mom giving enthusiastic warcries.
But NO! MTV was playing, the surgeon was humming 'william tell overture' and 'the saints go marching in' . The mom was snoring....
no more such things as 'push, baby, puuuusH!!!' no fight, no struggle, no pain, no drama.
n when the baby slides out...
Doc: congrats darling, u are one proud mom :D
Mom: zzzzz
nurse: *picks up baby*
baby: *cries*
nurse: welcome to Earth
nurse: have fun with life
the mom missed out on her best moment of pride and glory. she will juz wake up saying "done? oh i have slimmed down, so where's my baby"
yeah and there's operation on the neck too. this one's a gore. he got hypothyroidism and they have to remove the goiter on his thyroid gland. I tot the doctor is supposed to operate with utmost precision and care, cuz human body is fragile. But no he juz dig and dig, grab, put aside, cut snip pulll den tear, sigh and say its done.
sounds extremely exaggerated haha... oops. The operation took arnd an hr or more. I cant really follow the whole process cuz its going too fast n i noobe!
now i'm still trying to fight over my fear of blood. whenever there's blood spurting i wld juz stare and smile, legs shaking.
Neck operations always have alot of blood spurts cuz its close to the heart and carotid artery has high pressure. They did cut one of the arterioles and the blood shoots out quite far before they can close it.
I died...
yeah there's more but recounting them makes me wanna hide under my blanket. But still there's interesting ones like inserting a probe into the navel (belly button) The exploration is done on the TV screen. Den juz go deeper in cuz the pasture is greener redder on the other side.
mmm enough said. shall juz post a few pics i took since the day i arrived haha... taken during my mom bday celebration...
haha... on the day i flew off, i went to east coast w zy darren alison joyce sharon n yijia earlier in the morning.
sharon yijia me zy n darren
alison n me
gotta bend down to fit into the pic haha... ohwells
den its a sad journey ahead haha... leaving all my frenz behind n aaalll alooone...
lonely world
yeah. tts all haha... now i'm juz here with my dad.
it's a men's world, without mom to cook food. Kinda sad right haha...
take care ppl!!!
And to all the tekongereans, have fun out there. u all will be out soon in a year or two. All the Best! XDXDXD
