Fragile Caress

I went to meet-the-parents sessions with my mum yeaterday. Apparently I do not want to let my mum hear all the comments about me from the teachers, but ironically, I persuaded my mum to meet ALL of my teachers. Clement Ong and Li Bai Yang took the longest, but they gave me a lot of inspiration. Clement Ong said he enjoys teaching me. OMG!

My mom commented that Mr Hong and Mr Neo are meek and shy. Then *points at Clement Ong's flat top* "what's with that hair!?" She also said Clement Cheng has baby face.

A lot of sad things have happened this week. Christine lost her bio files and avril lost her wallet. Both almost cried. Luckily they found back their prized possesions the next day.

Friendship is such a fragile fragment of our life, yet without it, our life would be futile and meaningless. It gives us support, encouragement and consolation, and with them, the capacity to hope.
I thought I might have ruined one, but luckily things turned out to be fine. I was on the verge of tears, thinking of the outcomes if things worsened. I love all my friends and I don't want to lose any of them.

I have a friend in my class, who had just suffered a tragic loss of her best friend. It must have felt terrible and heart-breaking, especially if we are at the age where our mentality is the most unstable and vulnerable. As we come into teenage years and emerge into the world, we realised a lot of things that occur around us and, unknowingly, let them affect our emotions.

I was at a loss of what to do then. I don't seem to be able to offer any consolation to her. Probably it would be better to leave her alone. Perhaps no encouragements would work at the moment when our mind is shattering.

I kept quiet throughout the whole lesson.

Li Bai Yang, being wise and smart as she claims, managed to handle the situation well. Though her blatant "so what" when she was informed of the tragedy somehow annoys and angers me, I think her explanations was satisfactory.
"It is their choice and we could do nothing but to respect their choice."

I was also annoyed that some people in the class do not react well to the situation then. It saddens me to see how some people can still joke, laugh and giggle. They are seeking self-satisfaction at the expense of other's misery. But I guess it can't be helped. I might have reacted the same way myself.

I encountered a similar situation last year. He is a good friend of mine. Though I was kept in the dark of the situation then, I am still greatly affected. Luckily, not much danger is involved and everything returned normal again. It still worries me why at that point I wasn't informed and he did not confided in me.

Now I have a bigger problem, a bigger trial. My mum just got back her operation results and it turned out that the cancer operation wasn't carried out well. She has cancer and it is at malignant stage.

Currently, there are three option treatment that she can choose from: surgery, radiotherapy or kimiotherapy. She wanted radiotherapy, since it involves the least pain. But she still has to follow the doctor's decision. It is God's blessing that she got a good doctor in NUH. Heard that he is the best in Singapore and he is personal cancer doctor for Lee Hsien Loong.

I will still trust in God to provide the best way for my mum into her recovery. He will make a way for us and guide us through this time of trial with Him. Pray that my mum will be alright.

I have made this entry as vague as possible. Because I do not wish to disclose too much involving such sensitive issues. If I had written anything wrong, I am sorry.

My Daily Bread:

Jesus wept.

(This verse is the shortest verse in the bible, but it has a lot of meaning in it if we dwell in it carefully. It tells us about God's love for us and He wishes to take over our sufferings and burdens.)

Reunition

My father went back to Indonesia today T_T
He came to S'pore last week to accompany my mom in the surgery to remove a tumour lump.

Complained to him about my old, ancient and sputtering computer. It is roughly 6 years old. And I am in need of laptop. Father-son conversation (keng wee dialogue style)

Pop : Son, it is time for you to take over the world with a new com
Me : Yes, father
Pop : Good! Learn well, my son.

Then, I got a new com and laptop. Yay! The world shall lag no more!

Nothing much that happened early this week. Wednesday, Professor Soh from NUS, which I am attached to, came to AJ to lecture on nanotechnology. His presentation was impressive and comprehensible, given how difficult it is to explain nanotechnology. He even showed the AJ logo my group imprinted on the nanowires, suprisingly. Then went to RJ to attend Theory of Relativity talk and the RJ Toy Competition. Boring stuff. Met with Keng Wee and Mark. We played on the piano for a while to compare talents (I suck, no talent), then went J8 together, where Weicheng learnt a lesson.

Just came back from a BBQ yesterdsay with my CCA. We decided to spend a last time together with our seniors before the J2s step down. Went to swee chin's house at 4 and BBQ. Being a person who loves cooking, I naturaly prefer to stick to the pit. I thought it is a good idea to sprinkle some of the leftover sauce on the chicken while it is grilled, but everyone got disgusted just because I use my hands. Petty girls.... Maybe not everyone is comfortable with the way of the scouts. Played a few games (lame ones as suggested by Howard) and weth home at around 9+.

I love the J2s. I hate leaving them. I hate CCA meetings without them.
I wonder the batch next year will feel the same way towards me. I bet they will.

A Walk To Remember

UGH! still can't over my exam failures. I am feeling so depressingly stressed. My teachers and parents are dissapointed. I suck

I went to RJC on Wednesday. rrrrrgh! Its so f***ing big. I have seen block K...! K! That means there's 11 blocks already. AJ? Pathetic. It tries to make up for the petite compound by making it sounds bigger. We have block 11 and block 12, but block 5 to block 10 is non-existent. And block 4 is a container block that many bangla ppl stay in during construction works. I envy Keng wee and Mark.

Just like what Ah Du (Mr Toh) said last time. What would most people do when we meet RI students? Look down in shame, move towards the side, avoid them and move away... Sounds very depressing, but it's true. Maybe I might do that whenever I meet Keng Wee and Mark.

Celebrating the birthday of Theory of Relativity by Einstein, we had another long lecture. But it is interesting this time. Time dilation and length contractions and stuffs. UGH! It is beyond belief and illogical, but still obey the laws of physics. Me and sad thought of a lot of crazy ideas after the lecture. Length contractions: we can make Karen EVEN shorter by making her travel at speed of light, somehow....

Yesterday I went Back to Catholic High, with sad, felicia, nianya and weisheng. Me, nianya and felicia are supposed to interview the PE teachers for our PW. But our prime target, Ian Chew and Goh Kee Yong, are away. So I just interview Ms Kwok. Suprised that she still remembers me, and my name. Wanted to interview Goh Yong Han also, but he is with the baseball team, competing for the nationals in the field. So, we went for a tour around the school.

The clock tower looks nice in this picture. But there's some anomaly in the photo: the two looming figures in the foreground. UGH! .....

Interviewed Goh Y.H. after the tour. Result of the competition: we lost by 26-9 (roughly there, I can't remember). He said there's still a chance to remain in the top 4, or even win the championship. The optimistic me also believe we still can win. The baseball team was formed two years ago, but they emerged champion last year, after training everyday. Sadly, there's no sec-4s in the team yet, so the B-division is still quite weak.

Last day of the week today. Yay! I went for the physics olympiad selection test, but missed the NDP training. My drills must have sucked badly by now. Nvm, I can beg my lil' sis to train me in drills. The shame!

After that I went to Orchard with Howard and Karen. Shop around for CDs and then visit the food fair in Taka. Bought loads of food and experience financial difficulties after that. Noodles, cakes, abalone soup, sausages and squids... *Ka $hing!* Followed Howard to Paragon to settle his phone bills and then go home at 8 after that. Then, my mummy scold me....

This week sucks, practically wasted. None is accomplished, the sad outcome of idling.

and sleep;
for You alone, O Lord,
make me dwell in safety.

Shame & Dejection

ARGH! I did sooo badly for my mid-year.....

*p-issed*
(muz put dash, if not my com will censor)

That's the result of me only flipping the notes in desperation only ON the week of the exams. Got too carried away with my holiday plans... UGH!
Well, at least it is not a royal F-lush, as expected. Must be thankful, to a certain extent.

I got Ds, Es and one A.... +_+" In other words, by using the alphabets and rearranging them, I am D-E-A-D.
Then Zin Htet proudly declared that he got B-O-O-B .

Zin Htet :

I juz luv this pic. sooo cuuuuteeee .......

...
hooooeeekk *vomits*
( that explains what the white stuff on his mouth are... )

At home I received a weird SMS from an unknown person.

??? : Hi, what did the doctor say abt ur sole. Did he refer you to specialist?
Me : Sorry, wad u toking, who r u ?
??? : Your mother lah
Me : I think wrong number. My mum is beside me... And my feet is ok.
*no reply*

I was shocked that 'it' was a mum. Shouldn't write in that kind of tone.

I watched last year's CH music awards DVD again. Brings back old memories and friends. Just realised that AJ dance perfomed. Even Mickey Tan's (AJ Principal with dumbo ears but can't fly) is mentioned in it.

D-E-A-D.... ARGH!

Home

Exams are just over, and I don't wish to talk about it.
Going to get Fs for all my subjects, a royal F-lush!

There is this science exhibition at suntec that AJC got stuck with for today and yeaterday, and they have to deploy people like ME there, explaining the same stuffs for 8 hours to a nonchalant crowd over and over again.
I shouldn't complain. My audience are ... >_<" ... sweet.
Worse, Suntec is so crowded. The roads to suntec are blocked, because of some olympic meeting shit and SM Goh will be present, so they don't want cars with bombs to come. Great! Here I come.

I saw SM Goh today. He looked so old and feeble. Very pitiful. Hard to believe he is the one who build Singapore.

Yesterday I have to come to set up the booth in the morning for a while, when my timeslot is supposed to be today. In the end, I got dragged till afternoon. The teacher told me that I might get to present to Thurman AGAIN. But he did not come. *phew*

Then, I went to Catholic High for the annual Music Awards. I met Justin Jap and we toured around the school again for a while. Now, they are building a small pond on a slope. I guess Hak Boon (our infamous principal) got more crazy ideas for the schools. Still, I respect him for bringing Catholic High up to top 10.

Most of my classmates were already there early, playing basketball. A lot turned up, and I miss them so much. I met Ms chan and Mr Terence Goh. I can't believe the long-lost and much-adored mr goh would turn up. Didn't get to talk to him much since he is surrounded by fans. *sigh*

The event start at 8. The stage has a very vibrant and forest-like backdrop, with many moving coloured flashlights and 'smoke system'. It looked better than last year's.

We got Mark Tan (AJ J2) as the host again. 6 solo vocalists performed and all of them have good talents, definitely better than AJ's. Then come to instrumental section. 2 played piano. 2 played electone.... ELECTONE. Since when did Cat High can afford to buy electone? Last guy played drum. After that is rock band section. 4 groups performed. As usual, rock songs are usually difficult to sing. But still they managed to get the crowds high. The last 2 were goood. One group got so worked up they even trow the mike stand off stage.

We have guest performance by a local band, ronin. The songs they sing are so diabolical and the albino lead singer was rampaging round the stage. They are good though, and their album will be out in Sept.

There was a lucky draw and the prizes were 2 i-pod shuffle and an i-pod mini. ARGH! the i-pod shuffle was given through lucky draw. Kang Seng won one. tyco! The i-pod mini was given differenly. A note has been pasted underneath one of the audience's chair. The person who have that note won.

Then, we have guest performance by last year's contestants. The first was was a duet and they perform a rap. Then the second is by the champion last year, Justin Jap. He sang "Leave Right Now" by Will Young. After the grand finale, they announced the result. When the host asked who will win, the crowd went "Hak Boon!"

Reunion with old friends is very heartwarming. But I realise some of my classmates were not present. Some I have not seen for a very long time. I am afraid that we could one day forget each other and become distant.

Song

New Song in My Heart
Emu Music

1. Put a new song in my heart
Let me hear the praises start
Dispell the night
And give me light again

2. Put a new thought in my mind
Help me leave the past behind
And break these chains
That I might live again

Lift my fallen face
and help me to stand
Flood me with the grace
That comes from your hand
Cleanse me from my sin
Lord, forgive me again
That I might be yours alone

3. Put a new fire in my soul
Make this wounded spirit whole
And help me see
That I am free again

Let these broken bones
Rise up and rejoice
Bring this captive home
And lift up my voice
Help my spirit sing
Now to Jesus my king
For he has forgiven me

Lift my fallen face
And help me to stand
Flood me with the grace
That comes from your hand
Cleanse me from my sin
Lord, forgive me again
That I might be yours alone
