Went to NUS to go for my first nanotech course for my CCA. THe place was so super big. I got lost on my way there, so I came late for the course. Only 7 people turned up for the course, including Weicheng and Kenji. Darren Tay pon the course, dunno why....?
We learnt a lot of stuff there on nanotech. The topic itself is already so chim. The professor firsst taught us how to see nanoparticles usnig electron microscope, and view it on a TV monitor. Then, he demostrated to us how to move the nanoparticles using "optical tweezers", which is made up of infra-red beam. So interesting... He can even form the letter 'NUS' with the nanoparticles. He also show us the procedure of cutting nanowires, and again grafting the word 'NUS'. Then he tauf=ght us how to handle cells or even DNA, how to move, stretch and rotate them. Lastly, he even asked us to perform a violent demonstration of how tough an ice block is when coated with toilet paper and some nano-shit. Using a hammer, he whacked, slammed, flung and dunked the ice to the floor, sweating profusely. Not a scratch.... Haha... amazing.
He then told us what we are going to do for our practical course throughout the year and then divide us into groups. Then bye-bye for us. Kenji, Weicheng and I decided to eat at NUS canteen. There are so many canteens to choose from in NUS. I even saw McDonald's and Genki Sushi within the compound. Haha... I ate Black Pepper Chicken Chop, Peach Milk Shake and Sweet Corn ice cream. Fattening but yummy...
Rushed back to Catholic High for scouts. It is our 57th Anniversary campfire today. The theme for the campfire is "Sirius", which is a star/constellation in other language (latin, I think). The gateway was very nice. It is a dome-shaped bridge. The stage also has 2 big stars at both sides as a backdrop.

The campfire has started. A total of 29 schools were invited, a lot more than the average campfires (average 12 schools). The mood of the campfire is very high. The scouts and guides became wild (me 2), singing and dancing along to the campfire songs. We even sang songs like "Top of the World", "peng you"and "ancing in the Moonlight". Haha... Woohooo.....!!! The item performed by SN guides is hot. Scouts from other schools (not cat high) even rushed towards the stage to have closer look. The situation became rather uncontrollable and the J1s (me 2) have to set put them back under control....

By the end of the campfire, I lost my voice. Haha... after all the singing and shouting, but more because of our troop cheer. Overall, the campfire is a great success and the response is very good. But our pricipal hak boon wasn't there to witness the beauty. If not our scout troop will gain more recognition in the school. Haha.... Cat High Scouts rawks....!!!
