It has been a few days since I last blogged. Nothing much happening around for me to blog about. Lessons throughout the week. The days passing incredibly fast, until the term come to an end and everything will start to change. Last day together with my class.
PE today rulz! A soccer match between my class and other class. My class has many star players, so we thrashed them 6-0. Lessons are as boring as usual. Nothing much.
Inferring from the title, it is a scientific day. I went to Institute of Bioenginnering and Nanotechnology ( IBN ) organised by the school. I went there with Darren Tay, Weicheng and Kenji. Btw, the place got a few names: IBN, A*STAR, or Biopolis ( sounds like my blog title ). There are even more building with weird scientific names within the compound. The place was so awesome. I wish I can work there in the future, or get an attachment first. The facilities are complete, with food courts, cafe, and POOL TABLES! Even the toilets were so grand, giving a sense of belonging and wamth even as you drain yourself in the urinal. Wish that I can work there in the future. However, with the amazing facilities, the security there is very tight. Every door requires access cards and passwords to enter. Surveillance cameras installed in every corners. Even the lifts got 2. No privacy! There are also a few Biohazards room, which reminds me of Umbrella Corp. in Resident Evil. The Institute might be infested with zombies, roaming around at night. Luckily, zombies dun have access card and passwords. haha... lame!
There were many presentations by professors, which are difficcult to understand. There is one where there are two speakers presenting, switching turns after every sentence. Both of them have short tongues, I think. Probably they are still new to English.
Spent the next 3 hours for a lab tour. The apparatus and equipments there were so advanced and hi-tech. Each lab were conducting different experiments. I learnt a lot nano-surgery. The one which impressed me most are painless injections with nano-needles and removal of fats from blood vessels with minimal blood loss. (heard that ms Lu Qin performed the latter operation before).
All the proffesors in IBN have one common similarites : Short tongue. One is because many of them are foreigners. Another is because they spent their entire life mugging and researching, so damaging their brains and affecting their speech function.
Overall, the Biopolis Open House was very enriching. Gives me a few ideas for my future research. Makes me want to fight for attachments even more, but I think I am not qualified enough. The lab tour was very tiring. We only toured around on ONE floor of one of the blocks. So, imagine how big the place is.
Anyway, today me and Darren Tay is supposed to go to Catholic High to mentor our juniors. But the Open House ended too late for us to go there. Haha... Now I am reluctant to mentor my juniors since the removal of the PEARLS system.
With that, all my school activities for the term has ended. I was thinking how different term 2 might be from term 1. The lessons would be tougher, which means mugging should start, and then might disrupt my speech function. Friends will also come and go. That one nothing can be done. Lastly, I have to start wearing long pants. *sigh* Long, stuffy, hot, uncomfortable JC school pants. One of the factors why some men are sterile/impotent. Some people prefer long pants because they want to cover their leg hair. (thought of someone familiar). But I don't have leg hair. In fact, I am proud of my flawless, hairless leg that I don't mind showing it off. (ooops) Haha....
Looking forward to my class outing @ sentosa. Hope this time the whole class can participate. But I am still having problem finding method to keep the food cold throughout the day for the BBQ, otherwise it will rot. Anyway, wish all of you good luck and all the best for your new terms. God Bless!
