Otala

Quite long never blogged.... Nothing much in the first place... Some more school start to become serious already, I can't catch up! Aaarghhh....

First 3 months is really over. Haha.... A lot of people migrating to other JCs. Only 11 ppl from my class stays. *sigh* Out of which only 5 are boys, out of which again 3 are taking the same combi. *sigh louder* Old times.....

I tried to appeal to NJ, but failed. Got sucked back and trapped in AJ again. Having a connection is very important. At first I couldn't even get the appeal form as they dun accept general appeal and uniformed groups. But my connection helped me. He even got me a chance for an interview by the vice-pricipal. But I somehow screwed up the chance, and the vp posted so many difficult questions, trying to bring me down, find my weak spots and attack, catching me off-guard, in which I did....

First day of orientation(wednesday). My dwelling: Otala. Members: most from my class, and the others. We had 4 hours of crap talk by all the HODs. Zzzzz.... Then we had a couple dance of "Mambo no. 5". Paired up wif a gal, but we switched roles (I play female role) for more challenge. Halfway through, I went off for the screwed up NJ appeal, which I totally screwed up.

Second day of orientation, I chose triple science again, only 9 ppl take..... Had some games and bonding seesions. I did a damn-obscene forfeit ( not suitable in my blog, censored...). Involves me proposing to a gal across the AJ square. *sigh* my OG very unfair larz! Ask me to do such difficult stuff, while sonia dun even wan to roll on the floor as forfeit....
Did a very nice dance "Slam Dunk Da Funk" after that.... I got sabo-ed again by my dwelling to represent on-stage, in which I screwed up (again) by looking like a chicken tapdance. Horrible experience! The games were ok, we won 6 out of 8 games....

Third day of orientation(today), AARGHH!!! FUUN!!! (think again) ummm, not realli.... We got another dance. Dunno how to spell the name, but it is a mexican dance, sort of). Had some free & easy session, where I went to J8 to accompany and accomodate the gals. Ratio of guys : gals is 1:4. Only 2 boys. We got bullied, tortured, overthrown and outcasted, depending on each other to defend for ourselves for survival....
Went back to AJ for finale nights. Only a few stayed back. Received bad news of our class postings: our class was split up to join other classes due to shotage of ppl from our class. Some people's reaction is very exaggerated (wun sae who)
The dance night was very fun. Cheering competetion sux, since very little ppl from my OG stayed back. Anticipating that we would get best OG award, but didn't....
After that, AJ gone wild....
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

We did the previous few dances again.... (danced mambo wif sonia). After that we did some AJ cheers and a Cat High cheer (the "Gong Jiao! OOOI...." cheer, since a lot of Cat High ppl present)

End of orientation. School starts formally tomorrow... Worried that I might not catch up with the lessons, worried of the 2 years of mugging, worried that my new class will not be as fun as my first-3-mths class, worried of A-level.... Sometimes I might feel afraid of the challenges ahead, afraid of the exams, that I find it so difficult to just accept the truth. I am not so comfortable with the new environment. Life is so mysterious, so tricky and unpredictable, beautiful yet cause misery and sufferings. But I am still ok with my life... So, let God provide me with a way... Dun feel like worrying oso... Btw, I HATE long school pants.

Sirius

Went to NUS to go for my first nanotech course for my CCA. THe place was so super big. I got lost on my way there, so I came late for the course. Only 7 people turned up for the course, including Weicheng and Kenji. Darren Tay pon the course, dunno why....?

We learnt a lot of stuff there on nanotech. The topic itself is already so chim. The professor firsst taught us how to see nanoparticles usnig electron microscope, and view it on a TV monitor. Then, he demostrated to us how to move the nanoparticles using "optical tweezers", which is made up of infra-red beam. So interesting... He can even form the letter 'NUS' with the nanoparticles. He also show us the procedure of cutting nanowires, and again grafting the word 'NUS'. Then he tauf=ght us how to handle cells or even DNA, how to move, stretch and rotate them. Lastly, he even asked us to perform a violent demonstration of how tough an ice block is when coated with toilet paper and some nano-shit. Using a hammer, he whacked, slammed, flung and dunked the ice to the floor, sweating profusely. Not a scratch.... Haha... amazing.

He then told us what we are going to do for our practical course throughout the year and then divide us into groups. Then bye-bye for us. Kenji, Weicheng and I decided to eat at NUS canteen. There are so many canteens to choose from in NUS. I even saw McDonald's and Genki Sushi within the compound. Haha... I ate Black Pepper Chicken Chop, Peach Milk Shake and Sweet Corn ice cream. Fattening but yummy...

Rushed back to Catholic High for scouts. It is our 57th Anniversary campfire today. The theme for the campfire is "Sirius", which is a star/constellation in other language (latin, I think). The gateway was very nice. It is a dome-shaped bridge. The stage also has 2 big stars at both sides as a backdrop.

The campfire has started. A total of 29 schools were invited, a lot more than the average campfires (average 12 schools). The mood of the campfire is very high. The scouts and guides became wild (me 2), singing and dancing along to the campfire songs. We even sang songs like "Top of the World", "peng you"and "ancing in the Moonlight". Haha... Woohooo.....!!! The item performed by SN guides is hot. Scouts from other schools (not cat high) even rushed towards the stage to have closer look. The situation became rather uncontrollable and the J1s (me 2) have to set put them back under control....

By the end of the campfire, I lost my voice. Haha... after all the singing and shouting, but more because of our troop cheer. Overall, the campfire is a great success and the response is very good. But our pricipal hak boon wasn't there to witness the beauty. If not our scout troop will gain more recognition in the school. Haha.... Cat High Scouts rawks....!!!

East Coast Outing

Today is the East Coast outing for my class...We have been planning for about a week..., to spend the last few moments together before the partings....

We met at Bedok MRT at 1pm. I was a bit late because I rushed back to Bugis to buy Naruto 26 after seeing someone on the MRT reading it. I bought a few Marvel comics there also... Most of my classmates were there... Took a bus to East Coast park.

First activity in line: cycling. We rented bikes and cycled around east coast park for an hour, while the rest went roller-blading. It had been a long time since I cycled so freely around.

Then we had games. The guys use the empty field to play soccer, but due to the hot weather, we did not play long. Another reason is because the gals got nothing to play and they looked so helpless and pitiful. So we played frisbee on the beach, with the gals. Haha... It is much more enjoyable than playing soccer.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Hot weather. Scorched, burnt, fried and crisped, the guys decided to take a swim in the sea. (It is such a pity that the gals didn't join us in the fun. *sigh*....) Haha.... the waves were enjoyable and fun. The waves were strong and the day began to grow windy. After the long soak, we basked in the sun on the sands. After that, we swim again. That is when the unfortunate event happened.

After swimming for so long, I realised my wallet is still in my pocket. Wet and sandy, I left my wallet on the sand to dry up, then resume with my swim. We even watched a tug-of-war match of the group near us. Then, my wallet is gone, because there is a high-tide at that point of time. Either it got carried away by the waves, or it is buried into the sands carried by the wave. *sigh*... to think that I love the waves. I tried to dig up the beach for my wallet, but the sands looked flat and the same everywhere. I gave up searching for it and decided to forget abt it and just carry on with the activity.

It started to turn dark. After bathing, some of us watched the sunset together. It looks so romantic and beautiful. Then, we had our BBQ. It took quite long for them to set up the fire. (Dat's when I stepped in to help cuz I am experienced in lighting fires. Opps...) We cooked a lot of foods and ate together, while chatting and telling ghost stories. We had a good time then, enjoying with one another, taking a lot of pictures of us.

10 pm. It became very dark and some of us got freaked out after the ghost stories. (not me) After a few shots together, we went off together. I took a taxi home. The taxi driver was very friendly. We talked a lot about JC stuff, how his daughter got president scholarship and graduated from RGS and RJC, his son currently in VJC. He even taught me how to study smart and motivated me to study well. Haha... nice guy, luv him.

Dat's all for the day. Even though I lost my wallet and got at least 5 injuries all over, I still had a good time. Haha... 13/05 rawks!!!

Cornovii Outing

Went to Marina Bay to eat steamboat seafood with my OG, Cornovii..... The outing is supposed to be for 4 OGs combined, but in total only 6 J1 turned up. How pathetic.... But the turn up rate for J2 is much higher. Around 20 or more la... But still, how are we supposed to eat with 100 over people. I guess it is better to eat with smaller group.

I arrived at Marina Bay around 6 p.m. Waited for the rest to come for almost an hour. There, we took several pics of us....

The Fantastic 4...
From left to right: The Thing (Jia Yi); Human Torch (me); Invisible Woman (Ping Long); Mr. Fantastic (Kay Kiat)....

A lot of things happen along the way to the seafood restaurant. Since the public toilet in the MRT is renovated, we had to use the portable toilet. But apparently, we cannot have peaceful drainage. The idiots outside (dat's me oso btw) kept shaking the whole toilet. Turbulence.... In the end the toilet was messed up. The floor wet (u noe why...), the whole toilet paper roll inside the toilet bowl...

Due to fierce competition between the restaurants, the ppl are using every concievable method to drag customers into the restaurants, even by force. Once we stepped out from the MRT station, a few vans were lined up to transport customers to their restaurants. An ah ma kept pestering us all the way, even as we wait for the bus, to come to their restaurant. No matter how much we refused, she still keep scolding us, said we so bad to her. In the end, when the bus came, all of us just rushed in and she can't do anything, helpless.

The food there was very nice, although the place was rather stuffy and unhygienic. We ate for around 2 hours. Then we went to the arcade to play some games.

Quite late already. It is almost 10p.m. We took the final few shots together.

The Fantastic 4, Dr. Doom (the middle guy) and his victim (the sole gal)...

Went back home quite late. Btw, I juz bought Dead or Alive (DOA) figurines this afternoon. It is a set of 9 girls, for less than $30. It is the last in stock and I got the one in display. Lucky me.... The figurines are so beautiful and well-made. Haha... ZZzzzzz....

Scientificity

It has been a few days since I last blogged. Nothing much happening around for me to blog about. Lessons throughout the week. The days passing incredibly fast, until the term come to an end and everything will start to change. Last day together with my class.

PE today rulz! A soccer match between my class and other class. My class has many star players, so we thrashed them 6-0. Lessons are as boring as usual. Nothing much.

Inferring from the title, it is a scientific day. I went to Institute of Bioenginnering and Nanotechnology ( IBN ) organised by the school. I went there with Darren Tay, Weicheng and Kenji. Btw, the place got a few names: IBN, A*STAR, or Biopolis ( sounds like my blog title ). There are even more building with weird scientific names within the compound. The place was so awesome. I wish I can work there in the future, or get an attachment first. The facilities are complete, with food courts, cafe, and POOL TABLES! Even the toilets were so grand, giving a sense of belonging and wamth even as you drain yourself in the urinal. Wish that I can work there in the future. However, with the amazing facilities, the security there is very tight. Every door requires access cards and passwords to enter. Surveillance cameras installed in every corners. Even the lifts got 2. No privacy! There are also a few Biohazards room, which reminds me of Umbrella Corp. in Resident Evil. The Institute might be infested with zombies, roaming around at night. Luckily, zombies dun have access card and passwords. haha... lame!

There were many presentations by professors, which are difficcult to understand. There is one where there are two speakers presenting, switching turns after every sentence. Both of them have short tongues, I think. Probably they are still new to English.

Spent the next 3 hours for a lab tour. The apparatus and equipments there were so advanced and hi-tech. Each lab were conducting different experiments. I learnt a lot nano-surgery. The one which impressed me most are painless injections with nano-needles and removal of fats from blood vessels with minimal blood loss. (heard that ms Lu Qin performed the latter operation before).

All the proffesors in IBN have one common similarites : Short tongue. One is because many of them are foreigners. Another is because they spent their entire life mugging and researching, so damaging their brains and affecting their speech function.

Overall, the Biopolis Open House was very enriching. Gives me a few ideas for my future research. Makes me want to fight for attachments even more, but I think I am not qualified enough. The lab tour was very tiring. We only toured around on ONE floor of one of the blocks. So, imagine how big the place is.

Anyway, today me and Darren Tay is supposed to go to Catholic High to mentor our juniors. But the Open House ended too late for us to go there. Haha... Now I am reluctant to mentor my juniors since the removal of the PEARLS system.

With that, all my school activities for the term has ended. I was thinking how different term 2 might be from term 1. The lessons would be tougher, which means mugging should start, and then might disrupt my speech function. Friends will also come and go. That one nothing can be done. Lastly, I have to start wearing long pants. *sigh* Long, stuffy, hot, uncomfortable JC school pants. One of the factors why some men are sterile/impotent. Some people prefer long pants because they want to cover their leg hair. (thought of someone familiar). But I don't have leg hair. In fact, I am proud of my flawless, hairless leg that I don't mind showing it off. (ooops) Haha....

Looking forward to my class outing @ sentosa. Hope this time the whole class can participate. But I am still having problem finding method to keep the food cold throughout the day for the BBQ, otherwise it will rot. Anyway, wish all of you good luck and all the best for your new terms. God Bless!

Class Outing

It is 13-05 class outing today. Haha... Never had so much fun before this year. Our class had been planning this since the past 2 weeks.

I arrived at Orchard MRT at 11.15 and then waited for another hour for the rest to come. I met Qian Xiang and Ping Loong at the MRT station, with their own respective class. I eat lunch at Yoshinoya with Kenji, Ka Shing, Sheryl and Sonia. We discussed about our results and our choice of JC.

Went to cineleisure after that to buy our tickets. While waiting for the rest of the class to come, we went to the arcade and played puck. Had a violent showdown, a battle of the sexes. In the end, the guys won. (Duh!) Haha.... I met Jia Yi and Kay Kiat, and then Jeremy Ho and Alvin Li.

We watched "Hitch" at the cinema, with altogether 15 ppl. Apparently, we cheered and clapped for every kissing scene in the movie. *tsk* *tsk* childish.... But then again, can't blame them. Maybe I am the one at fault as I was the one who initiated the cheers and claps. Haha... Oppps. Overall, the movie was wonderful. I was so impressed at how easily the character can attract girls and how he can sweet talk them so much. ( Reminds me of Darren Tay, even his skin colour almost the same ) Haha... I envy him. Btw, I met James Lim and a SN gal(can't remember her name).

After that, we went to play pool. It feels guilty to be in a place full of, ummm, undecent ppl, it is as if I am assosciating myself w them. Never realised that my friends were so pro at pool. But I managed to win some matches out of tyco-ness. Haha... I met Jin Fu and Hin ho. ( I met so many unexpected ppl today. It is a small world after all, and Singapore is just a tiny red dot)

Then we went to Heerens to shop and entertain the girls. We took some class neoprints. My FIRST neoprint. Haha.... Girl stuff!!!
Dinner at Marcee and then go home...

It is my best class outing so far this year. Cat High one was a fluke. Probably because of lack of planning. In the end, we only went in our own small groups and not as a class.

Went home and applied for JAE application. I realise that most of us are going to different JCs, including me. I am confused about which JC I should go. NJ I miss by 1 point. AJ is too far away. AC I have no friend there. Haha. Difficult choice. In the end, my choice is:
1) NJC
2)ACJC
3)AJC
4)SAJC

Hope that I can make it to NJ. I guess putting NJ as first choice will help me in my appeal. Haha... don't want to think too much. Let God decide which one I should go.

To my friends out there, even if we go our separate ways, hope we can stay as friends forever. Dun forget one another, especially me. Haha... Wish you all good luck in your future endeavours and God Bless. C ya.... Keep in touch!!!

My Daily Bread:

And God is faithful;
He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear.

Dissapointed Jubilation

Just got back my 'O' level results. Should I rejoice cuz I got a single digit, or should I mourn cuz I miss by 1 point to enter NJ. I am having a mixed feeling. *sigh* Seing my friends were so elated with their results, getting mostly 7/8 points, I felt rather dissapointed of myself. I was satisfied w my english maths and sciences ( how the hell did I get A1 for Bio. I tot I totally screwed it ) For my humanities, I felt I could do better. And my greatest regret was to retake chinese. I still got a B3 anyway. *sigh*

The feeling of going back to Catholic High and meeting my friends, getting together again, is so heart warming. Aaaah..... old times... being young again..... I wish those times could come back, or at least preserved. Everyone has changed a lot. I even could not recognise some ppl, because of their x-treme makeover. I met my teachers. My sciences and maths teachers congratulated me for my results, but my geog teacher wasn't too happy with my combined humanity. *sigh* I let her down again.

I really miss Catholic High. I miss hak boon and the teachers. ( I dun miss my form teacher ). It is sad to see some of my teacher leaving Catholic High. My English teacher has retired and never see him again since last year. I will miss a lot of ppl. I miss my juniors.

ARGGGH! Nvm. Dun wanna talk about it. It makes my heart pain.

Not really much of a class outing after that, cuz we were soon separated, moving off with their own groups. I went to Yishun C.C. to play bowling with Ow Yang, Jia Hao and Kenneth Foo. Haha. So long never have so much fun. Wasn't easy cuz it is my only my second time playing bowling. My first time was when I was P5. That time I played with bars to prevent my ball from going to the longkang. Haha. Once, my ball bounced off the bars so many times, zig-zagged through the lanes and got a strike. Now, I think I have improved a lot. Haha....

My grandparents treated me to Tony Roma's for dinner to celebrate my results. haha. Wow!!! Ordered 3 plates of baby back's ribs. I have a full plate of ribs for myself. haha....

Went back home and I got flooded with calls, sms and MSN, claiming that they were concerned with my results. yeah right, I think they are just comparing with me who did better. My tuition teachers called me and congratulated me. Even my long-lost English teacher called me. Haha. At first she use a consolating tone, but she screamed when I told her my result. It feels great to know that so many ppl are concerned for me. But it feels greater to see that I have finally made them proud.

At the end of the day, I feel very confused. With my point, I can only stay in AJ. I wish to go to NJ. But I dun feel like leaving my frenz behind in AJ. But then again, I think most of my frenz in AJ are leaving to better JC. So.....ARRGHH!!!

Message to 13/05 : Class outing this Thursday. Will be going to town. Meet @ Somerset MRT at11.30 if you are eating lunch with us. If not, come at any time you want. We will be watching movie, play pool and bowling, and then eat dinner together. So, c ya there ppl!!!

My Daily Bread:

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have gained access by faith
into this grace in which we now stand.
And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

New Song in My Heart
Emu Music

1. Put a new song in my heart
Let me hear the praises start
Dispell the night
And give me light again

2. Put a new thought in my mind
Help me leave the past behind
And break these chains
That I might live again

Lift my fallen face
and help me to stand
Flood me with the grace
That comes from your hand
Cleanse me from my sin
Lord, forgive me again
That I might be yours alone

3. Put a new fire in my soul
Make this wounded spirit whole
And help me see
That I am free again

Let these broken bones
Rise up and rejoice
Bring this captive home
And lift up my voice
Help my spirit sing
Now to Jesus my king
For he has forgiven me

Lift my fallen face
And help me to stand
Flood me with the grace
That comes from your hand
Cleanse me from my sin
Lord, forgive me again
That I might be yours alone
